memorial day weekend

We went to Ephraim over Memorial Day weekend for Scandinavian Days.  Sadly it was a cold windy day, but we still had fun being with cousins and grandma.  It was my 15 yr class reunion and it was fun to see old friends and catch up.  We also were able to visit the Manti Temple where Budd and I got married.  The kids had fun rolling down the huge hill and running up and down it as well.  I love these shots i got of them.  On our way home we stopped at the Provo cemetery to place flowers on Budd's Moms and my grandfathers graves.  They were both wonderful people. We miss them and are excited for the day to see them again.

Chickens and Creek

We have some new pets at our house in the form of chickens.  Budd built an amazing chicken coop and we got 6 chickens.  I was not a fan of the idea but they have turned  out to be easier than I thought and the kids sure have fun with them.  They are growing everyday and should start laying eggs in Aug.

Now that is is warming up we have enjoyed cooling off our feet in the creek in our backyard.  The kids want to get in all the time, but they have to wait for Mom and Dad before then can get in.  It is fun to have in our backyard.

End of Year Murals

My Jr High Students painted these patriot murals for the end of the year project.  I bought the templates off of artprojectsforkids.org, one of my favorite site for art ideas.  Then each student had one piece (about 8x 11) to paint. Then we put them all together to create the finished project.  I was really impressed with how they turned out so I wanted to share.  We had a fun year and I was so happy that I made it through my first year of teaching full time.  I still cannot believe I made it.  It was so busy that is went by fast.
